Franklyn Football Match 2022

On Thursday 12th May we were delighted to host our second ever charity football match at the bet365 stadium.

The ‘Franklyn Football Match – The Return of the Legends’ welcomed the comeback of former Stoke City icons; Jonathan Walters, Ricardo Fuller, Liam Lawrence, Mamady Sibibe, Gareth Owen, Ryan Shotton, as well as Stoke’s very own boxing legend, Nathan Heaney.

Friends of SCFC and FFM came together for the 90-minute match to raise money for the Stoke City Community Trust who, with the power of sports, help people in the Staffordshire area to pursue and enjoy a more active lifestyle as well as running programmes for those in need of encouragement and support to stimulate a more positive outlook in life regardless of their economic status and ability.

As Platinum Partners of Stoke City FC, we already work closely with the club and were keen to support the Community Trust through the event.

Managing Director at FFM, Andrew Chatterton, commented: “We have been proud partners with SCFC for a number of years now and hosting the Franklyn Football Match in aid of the Trust is something that we are delighted that we have been able to do.”

“It is clear the impact the club and trust have in our local community, and we know the monies raised will make such a positive difference to many people in the area. Having the support of our clients, family, team, and the Stoke City Legends is just incredible, and we can’t thank them all enough.”

The match, sponsored by Franklyn Elite Sports, was a sell-out event after 250 eager SCFC fans jumped at the opportunity to sit in the Franklyn stand and see some of their heroes back in action.

Ex Stoke pro and Franklyn Football Match participant, Liam Lawrence, stated: “Great to be involved again in the Franklyn Football Match 2022 for the second time running! Delighted to support not only Franklyn Financial Management but also the Community Trust too.”

The total amount raised from the football match was £2167.68 which will go directly to the SCFC Community Trust to support their work.

Steve Hunt, Fundraising Officer at the Trust, commented: “A huge thank you to Franklyn for choosing us to be the beneficiary charity of their Franklyn Football Match. It was such a great event to be a part of and without the support of FFM and other businesses in our area, the work the community trust would be unable to happen.”

Franklyn Financial Management would like to thank all those involved with the Franklyn Football Match 2022 for making it possible.

We are looking forward to continuing their fundraising efforts at their upcoming Summer Swing Golf Day taking place on Friday 8th July at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa.
