On Thursday 14th July 2016, Andrew Chatterton hosted the ninth annual Summer Swing Charity Golf Day and Gala Dinner at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa.
The torrential ‘summer’ storms miraculously ceased and the sun shone for the golfers who, after breakfast, embarked on the 18 hole course with a shotgun start. It was the team from Better Insured Ltd that saw victory in the 2016 Summer Swing Golf Day Competition, with Tony Prosser taking the title for Best Individual Golfer.
A glorious day of golf was followed by a glamorous evening of fundraising for the St. James’s Place Foundation who support a variety of small charities throughout the UK. The Nobody Does it Better, Bond themed evening was kicked off to a sensational start to the evening by Coronation Street’s Shobna Gulati who performed two classic Bond Tracks. Guests also enjoyed an array of spectacular entertainment which included a Bond tribute by the stunning electric string trio: The Vibellos. The evening also saw some amazing performances by Britain’s Got Talent Finalist and ‘man of a thousand voices’; Les Gibson followed by the incredible Yvette Royle who ensured that guests were on their feet with her floor filling dance set.
The evening, raised £106,000 for the Foundation which brings the total raised by this event, over the last eight years, to a staggering £484,000. A feat which would not have been possible without the generosity of the main event sponsor: Vitality as well as all of Franklyn Financial Managements clients, suppliers, colleagues and staff members.
