10th Annual Summer Swing Event for St. James’s Place Foundation

Thursday 13th July 2017

On Thursday 13th July 2017, Andrew Chatterton, Managing Director here at Franklyn, hosted the tenth annual Summer Swing Charity Golf Day and Gala Dinner at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa.

Yet again the beautiful weather played its part as 100 golfers took to the course and after some impressive scoring, the winning team from St. James’s Place Manchester location was crowned champions with 94 points.

A glorious day of golf was followed by a glamorous evening of fundraising for the St. James’s Place Foundation who support a variety of small charities throughout the UK. Over 380 guests attended the Could it be Magic, Take That themed evening which was kicked off by Mike Andrew (Robbie Williams tribute act) who performed some classic hits. The evening also saw some amazing performances by comedian Rob Beckett best known for being the new team captain on ‘8 out of 10 cats’ followed by the incredible Fake That who ensured that guests were Up all night! Not forgetting MC Darren Proctor from KEY 103 Manchester radio who did a great job as compere for the evening.

The evening, turned out to be a record breaking night for the event raising £201,225 for the St. James’s Place Foundation.

Of the total amount raised, we’re delighted that we were able to raise £49,500 through pledges for Place2Be (www.place2be.org.uk) these funds will go to support the children affected directly by the recent Manchester bombing.

The total raised through the Summer Swing over the past 10 years stands at a staggering £680,000. A feat which would not have been possible without the generosity of this year’s main sponsors: Prism Solutions and Clarke Willmott as well as all of our clients, suppliers, colleagues and staff members.
