As a special treat for some lucky members of Congleton Town Juniors FC, we were delighted to get Stoke City star, Nick Powell, as a surprise guest on a recent Zoom call with them.
Each Junior member on the call got to ask Powell a range of questions about his career, to life at Stoke City FC, and of course how he has spent his time during lockdown. He even ended up revealing that he enjoys playing with Barbies from time to time!
The call was arranged for Congleton Town Juniors as part of our Community Partner Programme which sees Congleton Town FC being one of our local Community Partners.
Our Community Partner Programme exists to create mutually beneficial partnerships in the local area that are sustainable and positive, that help inspire the local community, bring people together and provide a more joined up approach to community projects. Charles Porter, Commercial Director at Congleton Town FC, commented “The lucky Junior Members on the call had a lot of fun with Nick and got to ask him many different questions – he was a great sport! As Community Partners of Franklyn, it’s great that they organise things like this for our members and help get the Congleton Town FC name out there even more.”
Ian Cottrill, Business Relations Director here Franklyn, stated “As well as being proud Platinum Partners of Stoke City Football Club, we are also proud to have Congleton Town FC as one of our Community Partners. It was great to be able to link the two clubs together through this surprise call! We hope the Juniors enjoyed it and that it was a little pick-me-up for them whilst they couldn’t train as usual due to lockdown.”
